I walked back into the cavernous lobby of the hotel. There was enough furniture for two hundred guests and I seemed to be the only one. Then the China doll came down the stairs and she was alone, wearing another of those enticing slit-skirt Chinese dresses that cling so delightfully to the female form. I didn't waste any time on formalities. I jsut walked straight up to her. "Lady, even if yo don't speak a word of English, I think you must be just as lonely as I. This country is like a prison, this hotel is like a morgue. I need company. Would you oblige me?"
