Hood went softly along the earth path to the first window. It had bars and a glass pane. He looked cautiously in. There was a clinical-looking room with shiny linoleum floor, lined with steel cabinets carrying dials and indicators and windows through wich he could see moving reels of tape. Several men in white overalls were walking round checking the dials and making notes on clipboards. In front were more men at consoles with keyboards of lights and switches. Coloured lights kept going on and off and there was a gentle electric hum. A computer!
